I could use this page to tell you why you should hire me or recommend me but you are going to do your own due diligence on this and will form your own opinion anyway. So instead, I will tell you what I’ve learned in my career. I’ve learned that it is all about relationships and how we present ourselves in those relationships that has the biggest impact on anything we will ever do.

My 90 year old Grandma taught me many years ago that every morning, before our feet even touch the ground, we get to choose how we present ourselves to the world each day. We are completely at choice who we will be in our interactions with others so I choose to be compassionate, kind, giving and forgiving. Thanks to my late Gran-Bunny, I wake up each morning and show up with a positive, attitude of gratitude. This is my promise to you and to myself. I will continue to do that each and every day!

Laurel started her career in the shopping centre industry in Vancouver in 1985 as a management trainee in shopping centre management. At that time, she wasn’t even aware that such a career existed and remembers thinking, “This is awesome. I’m getting paid to go shopping!” She worked for a few major landlords throughout Canada prior to becoming Vice President of Leasing for Primaris Management Inc. where she developed and implemented the leasing strategy for several shopping centres in Canada. Never wanting to rest on her laurels (pun, most definitely intended), Laurel is always seeking new challenges, both personally and professionally, and it is this internal drive that led to the inception of laurel adamson & associates inc. With her vast experience and knowledge in the shopping centre real estate business, Laurel has become a respected industry leader across Canada and the U.S. consulting to both landlords and retailers.

Laurel has obtained the following credentials:

· Licensed Broker with the Real Estate Council of Alberta
· MBA from Royal Roads University in Executive Management
· CSM (Certified Shopping Center Manager) from ICSC
· CRX (Certified Retail Property Executive) from ICSC

Outside of work, Laurel is a member of the British Association of Teachers of Dance and teaches highland dancing. She has completed a marathon, has a regular yoga practice and loves spending time hiking in the Rocky Mountains. She also is passionate about giving back to the community and currently sits on the board of the Calgary Silver Linings Foundation (, a foundation working to enhance the continuum of care for eating disorders in Alberta and to ultimately open a residential treatment centre in the province.

Past volunteer positions include:

· Prairie Provinces Provincial Chair for ICSC
· Southern Alberta Shopping Centre Association board member
· Competition Co-Chair for Calgary Highland Dance Association

Building on her experience, knowledge and education, Laurel has formed a commercial real estate consulting business specializing in retail leasing. She loves the industry that has shaped her entire career and will continue to work with both retailers and landlords creating and implementing retail strategies that maximize value for her clients.
